Here we are at the beginning of 2012 – a year that has been publicized for quite some time. Some believe the hype that has been presented to them by the mainstream media … that the world is coming to an end or other fear producing propoganda. Others, myself among them, believe that we will witness remarkable changes that will ultimately serve the whole of humanity.

We are in the throes of a change in consciousness unlike any we've experienced previously.

We are on the threshhold of the fruition of all that we have been working toward energetically.

The most important thing that we can do for ourselves is to become more and more aware of our vibrational energy. We do this by staying aware of our feelings and whether or not we actually feel good as a result of the things that we are thinking and the way that we think them.

Snapping out of bad feeling thoughts and the lower vibrational energies that go along with them is crucial now. It is perfectly natural to have those bad feelings now and then but to dwell in them is sheer folly.

We are the ones that we have been waiting for and NOW is the time to bravely and courageously step into the expression of our BEST selves.

It's going to be FUN – you'll see. As long as you make the choice to have fun over that of being miserable. It all starts there.

One of the ways that you can become more conscious of your feelings and begin to navigate them with more ease is to incorporate the use of The Rays of Color. We have spent the last seven weeks on my radio show exploring The Earthly Spectrum which is depicted quite nicely in my photo above.

The Earthly Spectrum is made up of the seven colors of the rainbow: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and Violet. You can access the shows and experience the gifts of the colors yourself by visiting mekila.com/radio. Next we will be exploring the colors within The Divine Spectrum. I hope that you will join us.

Now, I'd like to share a lovely video with you that has many great tidbits of food for thought. It is entitled 2012: Year of Power by Lee Harris. It's a bit longer than most of the videos I've shared (just under 23 mins.) but I think that you will find it worth the time. Enjoy!

The takeaway from this video for me is to relax into the changes. Relax and enjoy the journey. Be easy with yourself as you move through the upcoming changes. Be gentle with yourself as you embark upon the changes that you choose to make. Release the need to struggle or to experience unpleasantries for any length of time. Allow them to be what they are but lean more and more toward that which you enjoy. This will be the key this year.

Have fun, Dear One …Be brave, be courageous. Express the True You out into the world. Allow yourself to truly enjoy this journey we are sharing. It is sure to be a GRAND year of many surprises and blessings!

I'm so thankful that we are making this journey together. You and your energy are very much appreciated! Thank you for being here!

With much Love and Aloha!
~ MeKila

P.S. Please feel free to share your visions of this upcoming year in a comment below. Let's combine our energies to contribute to and support each others' visions. Remember – We Are One … we are in this together.

With all of the changes afoot these days, we will all benefit from the pollination of new ideas.

This is of vital importance as we move through this Holiday Season and begin our travels into 2012. There is much that we will be exposed to that is new to us. There is much of the old that must drop away because it no longer serves us or humanity and is no longer supported by the higher vibrational energies that are at our disposal.

As we finish out 2011 and embark upon 2012, do some mental housecleaning. Clear your mind of thoughts and ideas that no longer fit or serve you.

Allow new ideas to come to the foreground. Allow yourself to explore new possibilities. Allow for the pollination of new ideas and let the old worn out ones drop away.

Be selective. Allow your mind to be filled with thoughts and ideas that resonate completely with who you are and what you want. Do NOT be confined within thoughts that you picked up from God-knows-where along your journey through life. Assess the concepts and thoughts that you experience and determine whether they are keepers or not.

Last week in a blogpost I shared with you a beautiful video of our precious pollinators showcasing the work of Filmmaker Louie Schwartzberg with an excerpt from his film called “Wings of Life.” (see We Are ALL One!).

Today I would like to share a video that shows an animal that most of us never really have much exposure to. On those rare occasions that we DO, it is only fleeting and may be laced with preconceived notions planted in our minds by others. The little creature you are about to see is a tiny baby bat.

A part of the energies of bat medicine is the pollination of new ideas.

If you are finding it difficult to let go of the old and embrace the new, call upon bat medicine to assist you. Allow its energy to surround you and create for you the energetic environment needed to spark new thoughts.

Just as bats fly from flower to flower perpetuating their pollination and ensuring the movement forward of the plant, it can also assist us in bringing about the pollination of new ideas. Ideas that we may not have come up with on our own. Ideas that will help us move forward into the New Year with joy and ease. Ideas that will help us understand the changes that we are undergoing.

Just like the little guy in the video may have assisted in removing unpleasant thoughts you may have been harboring with regard to bats, bat medicine can help you dispel other ideas and thoughts that may have been colored by the misunderstandings of the person or persons presenting them to you. Now, in the energies that we are surrounded by and radiating within, we may discover thoughts that we carry that may have been similarly tainted by the prejudices of others.

Let's really make ourselves ready for all of the wondrous changes that are ahead by making room within our psyche for new and better. Are you ready to throw some stuff out? You will feel infinitely better when you eradicate those things that have been playing in the background that are no longer in alignment with who you have become.

2012 is going to be a wonderful year of growth, energetic expansion and experiences of co-creation. There's no room for confining and limiting thoughts that you agreed to take on as your own however long ago. Take charge and allow yourself to have the most enjoyable experiences possible.

With unlimited belief in your abilities together with unending love for you,
~ MeKila

We are beginning to hear people say more and more that We Are ALL One.

We are beginning to understand that we are all intricately woven into the fabric of what we call life.

At the SAME time we are all feeling the effects of the major changes that are taking place not only physically playing out in front of our eyes but also deep within our BEING.

We sense that there are major shifts occurring and we realize deep down within that the old ways are no longer working.

The best we can do at this time is to be conscious and to do our best to make our lives and those of our loved ones the most enjoyable possible. Is this a pollyanna approach? I don't think so. Particularly when the manner in which we live our NOWs determines how our futures will unfold.

What is the benefit in making yourself miserable now … when all it will do is perpetuate those unpleasant feelings and energies out into the future?

What possible justification can you come up with to explain why feeling bad under ANY circumstance is a good idea?

Yet, there are all sorts of reasons to snap yourself out of that bad feeling.

You feel better once you snap yourself out of a bad feeling.

You are in a better mood once you are in a better feeling.

That better mood makes you more enjoyable to be around.

When you are in a better mood, you are in a better place to help someone you love.

When you are able to help someone you love, they in turn can help someone in their circle that needs help elevating their vibration and attaining a better feeling.

The list can go on and on.

The most important reason to snap yourself out of a bad feeling or low vibrational mood is actually two-fold:

You bring a more enjoyable and pleasant vibration to your NOW and as a result you magnetize better feelings and higher vibrations into your future experiences of NOW.

You spend your precious co-creative Source energy on manufacturing and perpetuating higher vibrational energy rather than manufacturing and perpetuating lower vibrational energy by insisting on wallowing in the bad feeling.

Basically, whatever you choose you are sharing with the world. Whatever you choose, you are casting a vote. When you choose to elevate your vibration by reaching for better feelings, you are voting for a better feeling world. When you choose to remain in lower vibrational energies that have you feeling bad, you are voting for a world that makes you feel bad. Either way, you are casting powerful Source energy into the direction that you choose.

We are connected to everyone and everything. We can not make a move without effecting the whole. This is true of our actions as well as the energies we perpetuate.

I’d like to share with you a video that includes a beautifully recorded clip of our precious pollinators – hummingbirds, bees, flies, butterflies and bats. It’s a fabulous view into a world we don’t see much of with our human eyes. This is brought to us by Filmmaker Louie Schwartzberg from his film called “Wings of Life.”

Wasn’t that breath-taking? I have a special affinity for hummingbirds. I miss them immensely since Hawaii has none. Still I have many videos of them from my time in Southern California and I have my memories of them since childhood – including the one I had as a pet for several months over one winter in Michigan.

Recently I shared in a blogpost, that I often call upon Owl medicine in my everyday life (read "How Keen Is Your Eyesight"), likewise I also call upon Hummingbird often. Hummingbird medicine brings among other things Joy, Happiness, and Love.

If you are having difficulty bringing more of these energies into your life – call upon Hummingbird … maybe even view the video again to strengthen your receptivity to the energies that Hummingbird brings. The joy is apparent as the little hummingbird playfully chases a fly in the video. Be open. Be receptive. The only thing that will stop these energies is hanging on to lower vibrational energies that are a stark contrast.

One of the things that struck me in the video above was when Mr. Schwartzberg said, “… we will protect what we fall in love with.”

I encourage you to fall in love with feeling good and protect your vision of a happy and co-operative world by being conscious of the energies that you focus on and magnify.

Be happy and co-operative with yourSELF and that will reflect back to you in the world around you.

Sending you much Love and the highest vibrational energies I can muster in support of your desires!

~ MeKila

Aloha and Happy Thanksgiving to all who live in the United States!

Thanksgiving is such a wonderful time to linger in the feelings of appreciation. Appreciation is one of those energies that lift you up and help you to raise your vibration.

Appreciation is something that when shared makes everyone feel good. Appreciation requires nothing to change. Appreciation brings no confining feeling of obligation or expectation. It purely represents a feeling of being genuinely happy about something.

So, today on this Holiday of Thanksgiving here in the United States, I want to take a moment to tell you how much I appreciate YOU!

I appreciate that you are a part of our Synergy Family. I appreciate that you are contributing your precious energy to the raising of our collective vibrations. I appreciate that you have stuck by me even during my quiet times. I appreciate that you are walking the face of the Earth during this historical time and that we are in this together.

Please know that you are an important part of the Divine Plan. Please know that you are cherished for the part you play. We simply would not be the same without your energetic contributions. We are, indeed, in this together.

Things are going to get better – you will see. This next year will bring many surprises. Some will be startling – others will be beyond welcome! Things have been changing rapidly and they will continue to do so.

The vibrational frequency of the energy surrounding us and our precious Earth is continuing to raise up. This trend will continue and we will see many amazing and wondrous things unfold as a result.

Many of us are faced with unbelievable challenges at this time. What we must do to get through it all is to be devoted to raising our own frequency of vibration. We must move along with the raising energies. Clinging to anything from the past is inadvisable at this time.

Now is the most important time. Of particular importance is how we FEEL now. It will determine what energies we attract into our future. It will determine how much we enjoy ourselves as we walk our unique paths.

If you like the way you feel NOW, keep it up. Keep your focus and energies going in the same direction. Feeling good lets you know that you are moving along with the prevailing raising energies. All you need do is keep going in this direction and all will unfold nicely for you.

If you do not like the way you feel NOW, change your focus. Redirect your attention to things that DO make you feel good. If you do not redirect your focus, you will continue to feel bad. Feeling bad lets you know that you are NOT moving along with the prevailing raising energies. Feeling bad lets you know that you are choosing to focus on something that is in direct contrast with what your Higher non-physical Source Energy part of yourself KNOWs to be true for you. It is the distance between your Higher Truth and the so-called truth that you are paying homage to with your focus that makes you feel bad.

On this celebratory day of Thanksgiving, I want you to feel good. I want you to feel appreciated. I want you to feel happy.

One of the things that almost always makes people smile and be happy is babies – babies of any type. Here is a video of puppies that brings to you the magic of babies. I'll bet you'll be smiling before you know it!

Aren't they just adorable? Don't you just want to grab their little cheeks and kiss their precious faces? You watched it twice, didn't you – I know I did!

These little darlings remind me of my precious Siberian Husky, Lani. Tomorrow would have been his 19th Birthday. He transitioned back to non-physical just shy of his 18th Birthday last year. I miss the physical relationship with him but our energetic sharing has never ceased. He continues to bring me great joy – but I won't lie … I miss his hugs tremendously.

Have a fabulous day and weekend, My Friends … whether you celebrate Thanksgiving or not. Make it a day of appreciation and share your feelings with your loved ones.

With much Appreciation and Love,
~ MeKila

In some aspect of my life I am wanting a boost in a certain area so I will reach out energetically to the animal that naturally possesses the trait or characteristic I am looking for.

I then respectfully align with the energy of the animal and ask that it combine energies with me so that I might have an increased energetic awareness of their powerful abilities. I thank them and ask them to walk (fly, or whatever means they utilize for mobility) with me in my everyday life … or during whatever focussed timeframe I need the added boost.

Often the animals present themselves to me by somehow popping into my awareness in one way or another. They alert me to the energies that they are bringing. I open my awareness to their skills, characteristics and traits and see how they might apply to my life and how they might help lighten my load or ease my journey in some way.

One of the animals that has repeatedly presented itself to me as well as been the recipient of my direct inquiries is the Owl.

Owl brings many things to the table. There are many skills and characteristics associated with the Owl. The Native Americans call these characteristics and skills the animal's "medicine."

One of the characteristics of Owl that I call upon most is its keen eyesight. Owls can see in the dark like none other. They can determine the location of any sound they hear even without having to SEE it. As a result, they have the reputation of being able to see what others can not. They are credited with being able to see the truth behind any deceit. They also are perfectly quiet as they fly which allows them to see things that other more noisy beings can not as they are easily able to move in and out without being detected.

Here is an amazing video clip of an owl in flight. Notice how intent it fixes its gaze upon where it is going. It doesn't waver one iota in its concentrated gaze.

Is that not an amazing vantage point? How interesting to see the aerodynamics involved. Wasn't the focus of this owl's gaze the most intent thing you've seen in a long time?

I highly recommend calling upon Owl when you need to see something more clearly … or you need to see something in the dark … or you feel as though YOU are in the dark and in need of seeing your way out. There are many scenarios when Owl medicine might help you immensely.

Broaden your awareness to include co-creative partners that you may have not previously considered. Your life will be richly enhanced when you do.

With much Aloha,
~ MeKila

P.S. Do you have any favorite animals that you call upon? Do you have any stories where an animal presented itself to you and you later realized why it did? If you do, please leave a comment and share your story.

Today the Synergy with MeKila Show focussed on the topic of being in Synergy with Awareness. If you missed it, you can listen to the replay here.

One of the best things you can do for yourself in the midst of all of the rapidly changing energies currently at play is to increase your level of awareness.

Messages from our Higher Consciousness or the Source Energy part of ourselves are all around us. They come from all directions and through many different messengers. We often miss them because we are not openly conscious and aware.

We are constantly asking questions of The Universe but we often fail to listen for the answers. It doesn't really require active listening … just a heightened awareness of what is going on around us. Through this heightened awareness we will be given clues that will lead us to the answers we seek.

Sometimes the answers will come through other people. Sometimes they come through the animals, bugs, or items that we notice as we move about our daily lives.

What we often label as coincidence is truly a synchronicity that falls into place through the divine choreography that happens when we are paying attention and noticing. We are ALL One. We are part of One Divine Whole. It is only when we ignore the messages and nudges we're given that we mistakenly interpret ourselves as being alone.

Synchronicity is all around us if we just stay conscious to the nuances happening in each step of our journey.

The following is a video of a starling murmuration. I had not heard of such a thing. It is a wonderful example of the Oneness of life. These birds depict that oneness so perfectly. Not ONE of those little guys crashes into another. It is truly a marvel to behold. Enjoy.

Murmuration from Sophie Windsor Clive on Vimeo.

I loved the girls' laughter at the end.

Here is another one that displays the aerobatic skills of these amazing creatures. They all flow like a well-practiced dance troupe. Amazing … simply amazing.

It's as if these little birds are showing us, in an enormous way, the possibility of working together in great numbers with harmony and grace. They have no opposition to each other. They are not in competition with one another. They are just flying together beautifully and their collective co-creating is truly a sight to behold.

We can be like that. We can work together with harmony and grace without opposition or competition.

This is where we, as a people, are headed. This is what our energies are building. This is the new paradigm.

I'm looking forward to it, aren't you?

With much love,

I often encourage you to be selective in the things that you allow into your awareness. I do this because as you allow things to enter your awareness, they bring into your experience the activation of the level of vibration contained within them.

This is fine if the objects of your attention are of a high vibration.

When they're of a low vibration? Not so much.

Allowing lower vibrational energy into your awareness brings along the experience of MORE of that type of energy … just the same as allowing in HIGHER vibrational energy will bring along more of THAT type of energy.

Recently I've been bombarded by well meaning individuals pointing things out to me that had I not been in conversation with them I would have never entertained.

This began to create the illusion – in my personal awareness – that the energies afoot were of a lower vibrational dominance. This was, of course, not true although MY AWARENESS had been shifted enough times that it APPEARED that way.

Among other things a lot of the lower vibrational energy was around the passing of Steve Jobs. Between the unbelievable rantings of those "protesting his memorial," and their counterparts that had equally hate-filled things to say … together with those who felt the digital future was somehow destined to be stagnated by his passing – there was plenty of low vibrational energy floating around.

Having had ENOUGH of that and wanting to readjust my experiences back to more enjoyable levels of vibration, I took a deep breath and began to turn my focus to higher vibrational better feeling thoughts.

I did not have a vision of what I wanted instead as far as the specifics were concerned so I chose to make my shift vibrationally alone – rather than by envisioning the topic at hand as I would prefer it.

When I was in better feeling energy, it was clear to me what I wanted instead.

When I KNEW I had reconnected with the Source part of myself – my higher non-physical larger eternal part of myself – I put out the request that I SEE evidence of the continuation of digital creativity and expansiveness.

I want to SEE the good stuff! SHOW me the good stuff.

Within a very short time that evidence began to make itself known. I would like to share a video that magically appeared. It paints a pretty beautiful picture of just how MUCH is YET to come!

Is that not exciting? Don't you just LOVE the proof that we haven't seen ANYthing yet as far as what is possible digitally? This is basically a PHONE commercial … in a grand hologram on a street in Germany on the side of a building … cool – very cool.

Along with the request to SEE evidence of the continued growth of our collective digital experience, I also requested to SEE evidence of the strength and connectedness of our young people.

I WANT to SEE – in place of those de-constructive moments of focus brought to me by conversations with others – that thriving is happening. That people are living their true stories and singing the songs they came in to sing. That young people "get it" and are not flailing.

THESE are the types of things I want to "allow" into my awareness and to bring along their vibrational frequencies.

Almost at the same time that I received the wondrously creative video above, I received the following one that shows three delightful young people who are DEFINITELY connected to and "singing" the songs they came in to sing.

Does that not take your breath away? How beautifully these young men have stepped into the grace of being themselves and expressing from a standpoint of non-resistance to all-that-they-are. Bravo, Gentlemen!

They are Il Volo. They are touring the US and have a few more appearances in October before heading to Europe in November. You can visit ilvolomusic.com to check their schedule and obtain any remaining available tickets.

Connect with your larger non-physical eternal part of yourself and say to yourself Show me the good stuff!

Look for the beauty in life, My Friend, and it will find you. 【ツ】

With much love and aloha,

~MeKila

If you have found or been shown any "evidence" through glimpses of our future in creativity or the expression of people who are connected and expressing all-that-they-are, please share in a comment below. Thanks bunches!

I LOVE the energies that are flooding the planet these days! There are visual and visceral evidences of these energies everywhere! FINALLY we are breaking free from the energetic restraints that have held people shy of their true expressions for FAR TOO LONG! Let’s hold energetic hands across the planet and WILL the momentum of freedom and peace to pick up. The time has come for true freedom. Individually AND collectively – on all levels.

Please resist the temptation to latch onto “how bad things are” … even if you find yourself right in the middle of it. Grab onto ANYTHING in your life that you are grateful for and spend as much time as you can in that headspace. Doing this will ensure that your energetic frequency will be a match to being grateful and more of that will show up in your life.

This is something that can be done ANY TIME … ANY WHERE. It is also the most precious commodity that you share with the world – your creative energy – life force energy given to you from The Universe, Source, Creator etc.

In honor of this day, I’d like to share the following video that beautifully shows us steps we can take right now to begin to realize Peace in our everyday lives. How we can start to make a difference in our own little corner of the world.

Peace

If we each made a commitment to honor ourselves, each other and the world by doing our best to live in Peace, what a wonderful place this would be. Can you just see it? Can you feel it? I sure can – it’s been a lifelong dream and I think we can do it!

Sometimes we give up too quickly … thinking International Peace – that’s so far-fetched, why even bother? To think in those broad terms IS a bit daunting and does seem like such a gigantic mountain to move. But it doesn’t have to be that way. It’s really so much simpler and much easier than that.

All that is truly required from us to do our part is that we start to create Peace within ourselves. By starting with the thoughts we think, we can begin to alter the energy that surrounds ourselves. By thinking more peacefully, by being more gentle with ourselves, by coming from kindness rather than frustration, we can begin to change both our experience of the world and the world’s experience of us.

As we create more and more peaceful oriented situations and experiences in our lives, we contribute to the overall peace of the planet. As we walk our days more peacefully, we influence those in our immediate circle. As they begin to experience more Peace, they in turn influence the friends and loved ones in their immediate circle and a fabulous wave of Peace begins to ripple outward.

The benefits of learning how to be more peaceful – more peace filled – are many.

A person who has mastered their ability to live from peace is a Godsend to humanity. The peaceful man is the one who leads when all others lose their heads. In times of chaos or trouble, it is the one who has harnessed the ability to remain peaceful that will discover the solution.

Please remember this will take time. Be patient with yourself. Be patient with others. We have been conditioned to be competitive and warring for centuries. This is why it is so difficult. We’ve been conditioned to “crack the whip” on ourselves. To continuously strive – to have perpetual drive. To do anything less has been looked upon as being lazy.

Well, it’s time to take accountability – it’s time to think for ourselves. It’s time we walk away from conditioning that no longer serves us. It’s time we come to our own conclusions. One such conclusion is pretty easy to come to — we simply can not create peace by fighting wars. Any time we’re “against” something … we simply donate our precious creative energy to the very thing we’re against.

We really must learn to do things differently. We want a different outcome, right? Well then the only thing we CAN do is do something differently. So let’s give Peace a chance. Let’s walk our talk. If we want more Peace, let’s create it.

Let’s start by learning to be peaceful with ourselves. Let’s start by coming to the conclusion that we are each responsible for our contribution to the world’s collective experiencing. Let’s start by each day making our contribution more peace-filled. Starting with the manner in which we treat ourselves.

Aloha nui loa,
With much love,

Aloha, My Darlings,

Mahalo – Thank You – for all of your love during this time of all-encompassing focus. My adorable Siberian Husky puppy, Lani, is doing much better. Although he is now 17.5 years old, the sudden liver and kidney failure that he experienced is now behind him and proved to be no match for his will to continue his earthly adventures. He now has again a perfect blood panel. Good thoughts and prayers for him to regain some of the weight he lost will be much appreciated.

I hope that you have felt my love and energetic support even though we may not have connected in more acceptably tangible ways. Please know that I truly extend my energies to you unceasingly.

In fact, in my silence you may rest assured that the intensity of my support of you and your creative desires is even greater. How can I say this? I can say this because if I am involved in something that takes me away from my communications with my extended family – you – I am most definitely activating a more intense creative energy on some front … and although my focus may be directed at something that may or may not involve you, it is ALWAYS with the intention that YOUR creative energies will be enhanced and strengthened as well. Please always hold that in your heart because I hold it in mine.

You need never feel alone in your attempts to align with your highest and best self. In actuality, there are a myriad of supportive individuals routing for you in any given moment. I just wanted you to hear it from someone that is placing one foot in front of the other on this sweet planet doing the best they can – just like you are. So, in those moments that you feel alone – even when you know intellectually that you’re not yet still feel as though you are – just remember that from the core of my essence I mean it when I say that I’m with you.

With Much Love and Appreciation,

~MeKila

Please share your comments/feelings below and we'll begin again our conversations.

Aloha Dear Friends,

What a beautiful day we had here on Kauai! Although it marked the shortest day of the year for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, it was nonetheless a fabulous expression of Light. The above photo was taken as my husband and I enjoyed the sunset in honor of the Winter Solstice.

The word solstice literally means the “sun stops” … at both the Winter and Summer Solstice, the sun stops … and begins its journey back the other way. On the Winter Solstice, for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, it stops heading South and begins again to head North. The Summer Solstice is just the opposite – stopping its journey heading North and beginning again to head South.

I find the Winter Solstice to be one of the most powerful days of the year, and a special time for introspection. I, too, take a few moments to stop. I take this time to look back over the past year … to see what I’ve learned over that time, what I’ve accomplished within myself. How have I grown? How did I step out of my comfort zone? How did I expand my experience of my true self? How have I honored myself and others? Is there anything that no longer serves me? Any habits, or old beliefs that I’ve outgrown? I take some time to really look at the answers to those questions. If I’ve found things that I need to let go, I imagine doing so with ease and grace. There’s no need to hold onto concepts, beliefs or habits that are not serving me. Likewise, I allow myself to feel the sense of accomplishment when I remember where I’ve stepped up and done things that were challenging or uncomfortable … and allow myself to see and remember the outcome of those moments of inner bravery.

Then I shift my focus for a few moments to thinking about what the next year might hold. What would I like to experience in the coming year? What would I like to see come to fruition? What changes would I like to see in my life? How would I like to grow? I set the intention of expanding my awareness and experiences to include these things. I feel the excited anticipation of the growth that I am now facing.

Then, my favorite part of all, I revel in NOW. I feel gratitude for the fact that I am here, walking this Earth, during these exciting times. That I am sharing with you these precious moments in our planet’s history. That I am blessed with the opportunity to experience the myriad changes that we are experiencing in our consciousness with each day that passes. That I am given the opportunity to bring about changes in myself and consequently my world.

Happy Winter Solstice, Dear Hearts!
~MeKila

P.S. What are your thoughts, concerns or comments on this wondrous Winter Solstice (or Summer Solstice for my pals in the Southern Hemisphere where you can look at this as your halfway point in your year – how are your plans coming along … are there changes you need to make to meet your intended goals etc.)? If you feel inclined to share – please do so by leaving a comment below – I’d LOVE to hear your thoughts!

Aloha and Thank You in advance for any energy you can lend to this urgent request.

The brother of a dear friend of mine is in urgent need of our energetic assistance. Although he has cancer, he had been feeling great so he traveled to South Africa (from Montana) to experience a life long dream. He successfully accomplished his goal and was very happy. The day after accomplishing this goal he became ill and thought it was an infection. Unfortunately, the cancer has spread to his brain and he is now in very, very bad shape.

He is in a hospital about 3 hours from Johannesburg. It is his desire and the desire of his family that he make it home. His trip will entail a 3 hour journey by car to get to Johannesburg. From Johannesburg there will be flights to Amersterdam, on to Atlanta and then finally to Montana. The flights alone are expected to take 20 hours.

Let’s please combine our energies to strengthen him for his journey ahead as well as to intend and fortify the trip itself to be one of ease.

The best thing we can do aside from setting our intention is to go about our lives in a joyful fashion … at the same time consciously sharing the energy of that joy in this family’s honor. For many of us our knee jerk reaction might be to worry … or to feel sorry for them. This is of no support to them or us. Worry is a very low frequency emotion and the last thing this family needs right now is to have low vibrational energy thrown at them. Let’s all do our best to carry out our day in the highest possible energies we can with the intention of sharing THAT energy with this family. Doing things that you truly enjoy – your favorite things – will put you in a state of higher energetic frequency. Experience joy, love, happiness, excitement … these energies are what is needed to lift this man up into the energies he will need to make his journey back to his family. Ultimately, his soul will make the final decision as to how this all plays out …. but we can support him with the best we have to offer. That is my intention – if you can contribute as well it will be of immense value.

Again I say a heartfelt Mahalo, my Dear Friends and fellow co-creators, for lending your support in this precious and urgent matter.

With much love and gratitude, now and always,
MeKila

P.S. Please share your comments and well-wishes below. I will be sure to pass them on to the family.

Overcomers, Inc. is a beautifully crafted anthology of 38 seemingly hard luck stories that pleasantly surprise the reader at every turn. You are drawn into each person’s story with the wonder of a child. How WILL they pull themselves out of THIS one victoriously? How on God’s green Earth will they move on from THAT? And yet story after story you see just how fabulously creative we humans really are. We have everything we need right within us.

What makes the authors’ stories different than yours? Nothing. Any of these stories could be about you, your sister, parent, child, friend or spouse. That’s why this book is so inviting. You’re compelled to read just one more adventure … and then you’ll put the book down. Yet often you’re unable to do so. These stories are real life, they’ve been experienced and documented by ordinary people from all walks of life facing extraordinary challenges. The diversity is indeed part of the enticing flavor of this book and it’s what makes each story memorable.

The topic of animals is truly a tough one because it’s one that carries with it a heavy dichotomy. Science believes that humans are included in the animal kingdom yet many religions consider humans superior and animals “lowly.” Most are of the belief that humans are the most intelligent beings on earth but can they be so sure? We’re the only beings that put our own in cages. When you observe animals in their natural environment, there seems to be instinctual understanding of what’s acceptable and what is not within each unique community. We, the most intelligent have lost that instinctual understanding.

We’ve developed an unhealthy approach of separateness to everything. Separateness from animals because we’re better than them in some way. Separateness from others within our own species because we’re better than them too. It all appears to be insanely out of control.

Exclusiveness as an approach to life simply is not working for us. We need to approach a more inclusive attitude. We need to be more accepting of our fellow human beings even if they seem to be different in one way or another. We need to be more accepting of the life force contained within each animal. Our balance is terribly out of control and if we are to utilize our supposed supreme intelligence, we must adopt a more grateful and respectful attitude toward all animals, including ourselves.

Indigenous cultures believe that each animal carries lessons for us. Native Americans and Shamans called upon animals for their “medicine” – if a warrior needed to see in the dark, he’d call on Owl Medicine to enhance his eyesight. The world is full of wonderfully perfect teachers if we only remain open to what they have to share.

Look to other members of our animal family with a sense of responsibility and respect. Activate that claimed higher intelligence and do something about the wrongs and imbalances we’re witnessing on our precious planet.

If we’re honest with ourselves, deep down we realize that all of those things can disappear in an instance. Again, living here in the middle of the Pacific, we are graced with the blessing of being a little closer to that awareness than a lot of other parts of our country. Is there any question when an energy such as Iniki blows through that we aren’t always able to be “in charge” of the situation?

So what did we come in with? We came in with the love of our Creator. We came in with the wisdom of our Souls. We came in with the ability to think, learn, and grow. We came in with the capacity to love. These are the things we truly possess. These are the things that we have the power to hold onto. These are the things that we own.

Is it wrong to enjoy the material things in life? Not at all. Our challenge comes in keeping things in perspective. Pay attention to the attitude you hold about the people, places and things in your life and remember to cherish the “possessions” you came in with.

Life is education. As long as we’re still learning, we’re still being educated. The moment we stop learning, we stop living.

The single most powerful thing we can do to keep our mind active and alert is to keep learning new things. We need to keep exercising the brain. Learning keeps our brains active by creating new neuro pathways. These new neuro pathways keep the brain alive and active. When you stop learning you quit exercising the brain and stop generating the electricity you need to run that marvelous computer between your ears. I think we can all agree that keeping our minds alert and active is imperative to remaining in charge of our lives.

Perhaps the most intriguing area to focus on in your quest for education is to seek to truly understand yourself and your part in this great big universe. Knowledge truly is power. The more you know, the more easily you can make decisions when the need for them shows up in your face.

Integrity is something that we each define for ourselves. Your sense of integrity can not be determined by someone else any more than you can say what someone else’s integrity might look like. It’s a set of moral values that we’ve decided are in alignment with our core beliefs about ourselves and others.

When we act in accordance with those values, we’re said to be acting in integrity. When we act in contrast to those core values and beliefs, we are no longer in our integrity.

Taking it up to an even more personal level, what is your highest aspiration for yourself? Keeping that in mind, whenever you act in support of that “ideal you,” you are in your integrity. Whenever you act in a way that does not support that “ideal you,” you are acting outside of integrity. One might even say that in order to reach that highest aspiration, it’s integral that you remain in your integrity.

When you think of energy, what’s the first thing that comes to your mind? Chances are your answer wasn’t ‘accountability.’ Wouldn’t it be nice if that truly was the first thing that came to most of our minds? Let’s face it, day in and day out we all expend energy. Every single thing we do requires energy. The thoughts we allow to flow through our minds are powered by energy. The act of looking at something and seeing it requires energy to do so. There simply is not a single thing that we do whether automatically or with consciousness that can be done without the expenditure of energy.

Having said that, just how accountable are you for the type of energy that you spend every day. Do you utilize the precious gift of energy in ways that uplift and empower the people you come in contact with? Or do you throw this most powerful fuel around in damaging ways? Have you felt the power of a smile? Likewise, is there any denying the force behind stink eye?

Sometimes we wonder how we can improve the world. What can we possibly do to make a difference? If we all took responsibility for the mana behind our actions and showed respect for the gift of that mana by being accountable for how it’s spent … we’d see just how much our efforts ripple out. We’d see how seemingly tiny changes we make within ourselves have much larger impacts that grow exponentially as they touch people and continue on to inspire changes in others. Let’s make an effort to be more aware of how we’re spending our allotments of energy as we journey through the experiences life brings.

Ahhh to awaken in the morning with a sense of wonder … is there anything like it? We see it in the eyes of children. We see it in their approach of newness to everything. Do you remember what that was like?

When we approach things with wonder, we allow them to be whatever they truly are. We don’t have concrete opinions formed in our minds of what they are. With wonder we are open to seeing how God is expressing in every moment through every thing. Wonder keeps us in a constant state of learning and expanding our awareness.

When was the last time you experienced wonder? Usually it comes more naturally with things that are indeed new to us but that isn’t mandatory. We can experience wonder with things we are familiar with simply by shifting our perspective. Instead of thinking you KNOW all about that familiar person, place or thing, slow down and look at the expression of creation that it is. Pretend you’re seeing it for the first time and ask, “What is the essence of this expression?” Then be open to the feelings and curiosities that arise.

Sometimes we’re blind to the way others are being treated in our presence.

To overcome this blindness we have to make a conscious effort to be more aware. To see things we don’t usually see. To pay attention to what happens in our wake. Do we leave people feeling good about themselves and happy to have spent time with us? Or is there sadness, frustration, anger or some other less than pleasant atmosphere remaining when we depart.

When we can smile as our head hits the pillow at night because we know we’ve spent the day aware of our thoughts, actions and words, then we will have overcome the blindness that plagues so many.

The birds, winds, whales and the waves all expressing their unique songs without giving it a second thought.

Today, let’s stop for a moment and give it a thought. What is your song like? Is it soothing and nurturing? Is it gentle and kind? If you were suddenly listening to yourself as if for the first time, what would your experience of hearing yourself be? Look deeper than the words. Feel the energy behind your expressing. How do you express yourself in your everyday encounters? What is your unique song like?

Hopefully you’ll discover that you’re pleased with your expression of your part in the collective song of our Creator. If not, how wonderful for you – you now have the opportunity and the awareness to make a change. Everyone is doing the best that they can. Let’s make an effort to be conscious of the song that we’re singing. Not just for the benefit of those around us, but for ourselves as well.

In this day and age families are spread out with miles and states and often countries between members. The core family rarely stays geographically in the same location. As these separations occur, it seems the collective culture moves away from remembering the respect that our kupuna deserve.

We are more fortunate here in the islands. The reverence for our kupuna has remained more alive than in many other parts of the country. The true essence of ‘ohana is a large part of what attracts those of us not born here. Still even we can do better. We must cherish the wisdom, the perseverance, and the courage contained within our kupuna. We must look to them, learn from them, love and cherish them and finally live our lives such that we will be honorable in their eyes.

So often people wonder how they can improve the bond between themselves and God. The quickest way to increase your connection with your Creator is through prayer and meditation.

Prayer is talking to God, or whatever the name is you’ve given to your Creator. Prayer does not have to be a formal combination of words given to you from any religious authority. It can be, but it doesn’t have to be. In actuality, some of the most powerful prayers are those that just flow out from your heart. Prayers are not always just requests for things. Prayers are any heartfelt words that you intentionally share with God.

Meditation is listening to God. Many people have no space in their busy lives to slow down and quiet themselves enough to hear the nudges and guidance that God willingly showers upon them. Do you find yourself constantly chattering away in your mind from the time you wake up until the time you go to bed? When have you stopped to listen?
All relationships require attention. It makes no difference whether it’s a relationships with plants in a garden, with your friends, family and co-workers, or with God. If you want the relationship to continue to grow, you must take some time to nurture it. Prayer and meditation help you build that truly unique relationship between you and the Divine.

Have you ever stopped to wonder why some people struggle so much while others seem to breeze through life so easily? If you look closely, you’ll notice that those who rarely seem challenged possess something that the “strugglers” do not – flexibility.

When we are fixated on particular outcomes and they don’t happen just the way we think they should, we build up resistance. That’s where the struggle begins. Before you know it, you feel like you’re paddling up stream.

The art of being flexible requires that we let go of our attachment to every little detail. Set the intention and know what you’d like to happen but don’t be attached to the manner in which you get there. Grant yourself the freedom to make choices in the moment allowing Divine energies to take you down a different path than you’d imagined. If you’ve set your intention strongly enough, you WILL head in that direction. If you lighten up on yourself and “go with the flow,” you will find your journey much more pleasant and eliminate the struggles.

Rev. Rita MeKila Herring
Universal Brotherhood Movement

The dictionary on my Mac has two definitions for perseverance: ”1. steadfastness in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success, 2. Theology: continuance in a state of grace leading finally to a state of glory.”

I’ve never liked the word perseverance …. it sounds so severe – although steadfastness is much more enticing and inviting. Sometimes drumming up enough energy to be steadfast is just as challenging. Still, our successes in life are truly attributed to that ability within us to do just that … trudge through the muddy, challenging part. I’m reminded of quote I once heard attributed to an anonymous author, “Remember when you see a man at the top of a mountain, he didn’t fall there.” Sometimes there are no shortcuts – we just have to put one foot in front of the other and continue on.

Isn’t it interesting that the theological definition of the word, perseverance, pertains to being continuously in a state of “grace.” As children, most of us were taught to say Grace before eating. That Grace being a short prayer offered up in gratitude for the meal we were about to eat. There’s that gratitude again. Just as we talked about last month, gratitude helps when you’re trudging through the muddy, challenging parts of your life. I know it’s easier-said-than-done to think of something to be grateful for in that moment, yet even in the definition of the word perseverance we’re given the clue that gratitude is the way out. So we do what we have to do to find and remember the things we’re grateful for. Fueling ourselves, our souls, with the energy it needs to persevere until we reach that state of glory. You know what the dictionary says about “being in one’s glory?” It says: ”in a state of extreme joy.” So My Friends, neither grace nor glory is reserved for the saintly. They are available to each one of us. They start within us.

Oh my goodness – humor. Could we live without it? I don’t think so. Humor, as they say, is the best medicine.

Humor is very similar in nature to that of gratitude which we talked about last week. Humor is another of those precious gifts that we’ve been given to “snap us out of it.” Can you laugh, truly laugh when you’re angry? No, the two cannot reside in the same instant any more than darkness can exist when you turn on a light.

We’ve heard, through the ages, that it takes more muscles to frown than it does to smile. Sometimes smiling, even if forced, will help us get to the point where we can actually see the humor in things. A smile is like a candle that we carry through the darkness till we can switch on the light and see the humor. We can see how it begins to work as we notice that even though we’ve forced a smile onto our faces, others seem to smile back as they pass us. They, perhaps without being consciously aware of it, are helping us with the candlelight of their smiles to help light our way till we can reach that switch that will turn the light back on full force.

Humor helps us spread happiness. When the energy surrounding a situation is heavy and burdensome, humor will help make it lighter. Sometimes we need to pull ourselves away from the situation and look at it from a higher perspective. It’s easier to see the humor in all situations if we’re not attached and invested in them. If we can look at the experience without identifying with it, we will have a much easier time seeing it from all perspectives – even humorously.

We weren’t created to walk around being miserable or uncomfortable or in a constant state of needing. We were created to experience, to share love, to enjoy each other, to learn, to have fun.

So, humor? I’m all for it. Use it whenever you can to lighten your world and the worlds of others. Laugh often. It’s energizing. It’s refreshing. It’s rejuvenating. It’s funny.

Rev. Rita “MeKila” Herring
Eclectic Minister in Kekaha

Aloha ALL, Mahalo for this opportunity to share a few moments of precious time together.

Each day we’re given a chance to decide whether we’re going to generate positive energy or negative energy out into the world. By our thoughts, words and deeds we generate this energy. Yes, even the thoughts we have seemingly in the privacy of our minds, are generating energy to be shared with ALL. When we worry, the energy goes out to be shared with ALL. When we’re happy and joy-filled, the energy goes out to ALL. When we’re peace-filled, you guessed it — the energy goes out to ALL. When we get angry at the guy who cut us off in traffic – the energy goes out to ALL.

Gratitude is one of those magical tools that we’ve been blessed with that has the ability to take us immediately out of negative-energy-generating-mode and into positive-energy-generating-mode. In those times when we feel the energy that we’re manufacturing isn’t pleasant, we need only stop for a moment and find the tiniest thing to be grateful for. In that instant that we are grateful, we immediately switch to generating powerfully positive energy.

We’ve been told for years that what we put out comes back to us many fold. This doesn’t apply only to obvious energies. Even those energies expended between our ears comes back to us multiplied. If we worry, we’re given more things to worry about. If we laser in our focus on things that are bothering us, those things will grow until it seems they’re surrounding us.

In those moments of worry or frustration or any other emotion that you find LESS than enjoyable, stop for a moment. Look around. Find something that you appreciate. Remember something that you are happy about. Thank God for that something. Try to stay in that feeling of thankfulness for a couple of moments. Compare the feeling that you have while appreciating and thanking God for the presence of this thing, or person, or memory to the feeling you had just moments ago when you were worried or frustrated or angry. Truly feel the difference.

People often ask me, “What can I do to help bring about world peace?” Well, the most powerful thing you can do is to bring peace into YOUR world. As you do this, that peace is generated for ALL. If each one of us took on the responsibility of being aware of the type of energy we were creating in each moment, we could learn to be in control of ourselves. In that control, we could CHOOSE to be peaceful, no matter what the circumstances surrounding us.

Many of us have learned to control the manner in which we conduct ourselves out in the world but we haven’t learned to tame the thoughts in our head. This is why people can appear to be hugely successful and still be unhappy. The time has come that we get a hold of ourselves and truly accept that we are each generating the power that fuels the consciousness of our existence. In these powerfully changing times, we can no longer be lazy about the thoughts we think. We need to be aware of which side we’re voting for — a world filled with fear, anger, frustration, lack, poverty etc … or a world filled with joy, peace, happiness, abundance.

Please take a few moments right now to bring to mind whatever you’re grateful for. Close your eyes and live a few moments in that gratefulness. Smile inwardly knowing that in those few precious moments you chose to stand on the side of happiness, peace and love. Make a commitment to yourself that you will walk the next 24 hours more aware of where your efforts are being placed. Pull yourself out of fear, frustration, guilt …. anything that you find uncomfortable …. snap yourself out of it by remembering what you’re grateful for. You will be surprised how much more pleasant your day will be — you will enjoy yourself more. The more you do this, the easier and quicker it will come. Until one day you realize – you’re actually happy most of the time. We will still find times when those unpleasant feelings arise. Look at them for a moment, learn something from them … and when you have done this, you know what to do next to make the shift in your mind. Yep, find something to be grateful for.

I’m grateful for this time we’ve shared. For the beauty of the island we live on and the people we share it with. I’m grateful for the privilege of being able to choose where my energies are directed and for the freedom to decide whether I want to be a negative generator or a positive generator. I’m grateful for the experience of being alive during these exciting times. AND, I’m grateful for YOU, for the energies you generate and the fact that you exist because your existence and participation at this time is vital. Thank you for being you.

Gosh! Aren’t we just tyrannical with ourselves? Don’t we just think we can do SO much?

The truth is we can … but we don’t have to be mean to ourselves in the process. AND, we don’t have to do it ALL in two seconds.

Part of learning to nurture ourselves and being supportive of ourselves is to realize that little things make a big difference. If we’re looking at making big changes in our lives, it’s not necessary to do so all at once. In fact, attempting to do so sometimes has a tendency to burn us out and ultimately set us up for failure. The most powerful and possibly permanent thing we can do is to develop the philosophy that it’s okay to take baby steps.

Taking baby steps in the direction we want to go … each and every day is FAR better than making a grand leap one day … maybe even two days in a row and then falling down and making NO progress for a couple of days or more. If at the end of the day, you can look back and see where you made ANY step, baby or otherwise, toward your goal that’s SOMETHING! If you do this every day, at the end of the year, you’ll find you’ve traveled quite a distance.

You’ll find that once you get into the habit of making baby step progresses every day, it becomes sustainable … even revitalizing because you see how much can be accomplished in little bite-sized pieces.

So, Dear Hearts, if you’ve made grand New Year’s Resolutions, pace yourself. Opt to go for the baby steps on a consistent basis rather than burn yourselves out by blazing away right off the bat and fizzling out. Are you with me on this? Gonna’ give it a try? Come on … let’s take the gentle path. I’m sure we’ll get there.

Right there with ‘ya – learning to be gentle with myself,

MeKila

Rejuvenate. Seems so easy. Seems essential. Yet, it’s also something we tend to dismiss. “I’ll get to it when I get to it,” we say.

In reality, taking time to rejuvenate is as important to our vitality as eating or breathing. Sure, we can deny it … and we can run ourselves ragged … but that’s not vitality, is it?

Did you ever notice how much easier it is to make decisions when you’re well rested? Or how solutions seem so obvious. Conversely, how easy is it to decide even the small things when you’re worn out and beyond tired?

Rejuvenation takes many forms. It CAN be satisfied by a certain amount of sleep – usually on a consistent basis. Yet other things can be rejuvenating as well. Doing something you love, sharing time with someone you hold dear, viewing a beautiful scene, hearing a favorite song, pampering yourself in some way. Lately I’ve been finding rejuvenation in reawakening my inner artist.

For years I only allowed myself to do something artistic AFTER I’d completed my incessant todo lists. Like it was the top reward for finally completing them. Needless to say, I hardly ever “allowed” myself the treat of doing something artistic because I’d continue to add things to the todo lists. To this day, I’m not sure why I did that … but I’m enjoying “my recovery.”

There HAS to be balance in your life. An equal amount of activity vs. an equal amount of inactivity is ideal. How often does your head hit the pillow and you realize that’s the first rest you’ve had all day? Sometimes when you wake up you still feel tired.

I’m finding it more and more necessary for people to stop at times during their day and ask themselves, “How am I doing? Have I done anything fun yet today? Have I done anything for ME? Do I have a workable amount of energy?”

Please begin to honor your physical body for what it is — the temple for your soul. Listen to what it’s telling you. Honor its requests for more rest … or to slow down. We continue to demand more and more of our physical bodies and we tend to pay attention to them less and less. Let’s turn that around this year. Let’s truly hone our ability to understand what our bodies are telling us.

When you feel you need rest – take it! If you need a break — take it! If you need to disengage from some drama and seek out a quiet place for a few moments to regain your balance and inner peace — take it!

Stop for a moment and think about just how much you demand of that physical vehicle your soul has been driving around in. Is it any wonder so many of us have problems given the way we treat ourselves and the unreasonable demands we repeatedly place upon ourselves?

That is why I am doing something different this year with my self talk. I tend to tell myself “Go, go, go!” I recognize the need to balance things out AND I want to walk along my journey for a while longer … might as well do my best to understand the needs of my vehicle. Hence, this year in addition to the “activity” related focuses, I intend to be conscious of a more reasonable amount of “downtime” type focuses.

So, as you walk through your days and assess your weeks, please pay attention to the time you’ve allotted to yourself for the things that YOU need to nurture yourself on all levels.

When you find yourself experiencing emotions that aren’t your preference … or become aware of the fact that you’re frustrated, overwhelmed or similar feeling … stop …. just stop whatever you’re doing (unless, of course, you’re driving) … take a breath … assess whether you’re doing something you absolutely HAVE to do right now or not. If not, great! Go do something you enjoy for a while and come back to the “frustrating” thing. If you absolutely have to continue doing whatever “it” is, make some sort of mental adjustment. Bribe yourself if you have to. Promise that you’ll do some specific thing that you enjoy as soon as you’re done. Do whatever you must to create an attitude adjustment within yourself. I think you’ll be surprised to find that when you do, that “frustrating” thing is over and done before you know it.

And now, my friends, I must go rejuvenate.

Till the next time, my energy, love and light are with you,

MeKila

Today let’s chat a bit about the second part of my mantra for 2008: Create.

For those of you who know me, you know that I’m a long time proponent of co-creating with God. I believe that we are creating with each and every thought we have. That our existence is formed through our ability to be conscious of what we’re thinking about. Now if you’re saying to me, “It can’t be that simple.” Then I can almost bet you’re also unaware of most of the thoughts that you have in any given day. If you truly monitored yourself, you’d be surprised at how many impulsive things may not be sending the type of energy into your future that you’d like to send … if you actually KNEW you were doing it.

For this pondering, though, let’s step away from thoughts as our creations and look at the act of creating in a more immediately tangible fashion. When we were kids, we were all very creative. We could take something and use our imaginations to create something else. An empty appliance box became a fort, a tree-house, a castle … a dungeon, or a private get-away. Simply putting on strange clothing could catapult us into entirely different worlds. As time moved along we began to lose that spontaneity.

When we create things through whatever medium we choose, we experience miniscule glimpses of our power as children of the Great Creator. From nothing – we created something. In art, we take things and change them, rearrange them, mix them, alter them, add ourselves to them … and before long what once was just a collection of things is now a beautiful expression of us. In music, we pick up an instrument, or use our voice … and where there was silence there is now a symphony of sounds laced with the uniqueness of us. When writing, we have a blank piece of paper and a pen or pencil … or a blank document and our keyboard … and when we’re done, there’s an explosion of thoughts and expressions now occupying that once vacant space. All of these things if looked at closely cause us to contemplate in awe …. “I did that! I made that! A while ago that wasn’t there and now it IS because I brought it into being!” Symbolically that is very powerful. Once you do it, you’ll want to do it again … and again …. Until soon, you find yourself consciously creating on many levels in your life. And THAT, My Friends, is an energizing place to be.

If you’re having trouble figuring out what you can create, look to your childhood for clues. What did you enjoy when you were little? If left to your own devices, where did you chose to spend time? Begin to draw the experiences of these types of things back into your life. Energize yourself. Entertain yourself. Grow!

I’m looking forward to seeing the things I come up with … and I’m looking forward to hearing how you’ve reawakened the creator in you!

Yours in Joy of Expressing,

Yesterday I shared with you my mantra for 2008: Integrate, Create and Rejuvenate … in 2008.

Today I’d like to chat a bit about the first of that trilogy of focus for this upcoming year — Integrate.

We have been searching for truth our whole lives … quite probably throughout MANY lives. Throughout our travels, we found truths here and there and tucked them into our pockets. This year, more than any other, we’re being asked to truly integrate those things we’ve deemed “our truths.” Integrating them by becoming them. With our every thought, with our every action, with our every breath. Being so intimate with the truth that we emanate the radiance of being in tune with it.

Being an active seeker of truth my entire life, my path has crossed the paths of many other career seekers of truth. So many are weary from their search. Some are frustrated with the constant bombardment of conflicting information. Most are in overwhelm at the sheer volume of it all.

For those who have studied the Mayan Calendar and the Levels of Consciousness, you know that we are in the Fifth Night of the Eighth Level and will be for the biggest part of this year. During the Fifth Night of each Level of Consciousness, we integrate the changes in consciousness that have occurred on that level. This Level of Consciousness started in 1999 and the action of the consciousness currently taking hold is Integrity. The action of the previous level of consciousness was power. I think we can all see where power rooted very deeply … and where integrity is having a time rooting — but it WILL. It’s fascinating to see how this has all been predicted by the Mayan Calendar. I will share more of what I’ve learned on that subject in posts to come.

Along with all of that, I’m being told … and this is nothing new, we’ve been told this throughout the ages — all that we need to know we have within.

So, what integration means to me then is … to step back, to be quiet, to listen to our inner voices and hear the things we’ve accepted as our truths. Do some inner house cleaning – get rid of stuff that no longer fits. Pay attention to those things that are truly integral and look for ways that we can express those truths every day. Begin to walk with consciousness in our steps — knowing that each step we take brings us closer to being the person we know we are and want to be.

Much Aloha, Dear Hearts!

MeKila

There are SO many things I want to focus on as I excitedly plan this new year. Narrowing it down is not an easy task. Still, I tend to spread myself too thin (which, in my case, is funny) and in the interest of continuing my education in being gentle with myself I’ve decided to pick three.

We’re living in such extraordinary times, aren’t we? I’m thrilled at the showings of rising consciousness beaming forth from points all around the globe! I love that people as a species are finally searching for their own truths. I feel the increasing frequencies wafting through the very air we breathe. It’s invigorating! It’s enlivening!

The veils that have existed between us and the rest of the Universe for eons are quickly dissipating. The realization of who we really are is anchoring in more and more and as it does, not only do we become stronger, we become peaceful. Becoming peaceful is essential.

We can SAY we want peace … even WORLD peace and yet do we do our part to create or keep our own lives peaceful? We truly must walk our talk now … if we want something, we must be it. It’s as simple as that. There’s no need to feel as if there’s nothing you can do to stop the insanity of men and women destroying each other in battle. There most certainly IS something you can do … and it’s not convincing all of the politicians to do this, that or the other thing. It has nothing to do with anyone but you. You live your life in peace. In your mind with the thoughts you think, in your heart with the love you share … in your exchanges with others whether deeply intimate or momentarily passing. That is how we change the world. By changing the world that we experience from our core out.

So, I’m sure my focus will travel many paths this year as the adventure of my life continues. I will, though, make a concerted effort to bring myself back to those I’ve chosen for this year’s mantra “Integrate, Create, and Revjuvenate … in 2008″ … and look forward to the results of doing so.

As Ever, My Energy, Love & Light are with YOU Always!
